2. The catalogue : a listing of all the books, periodicals, and other resources owned by library.
Call number: a number used in libraries to classify books and periodicals and to indicate where they can be found on the shelves.

3. Reference works: A work synthesizes a large amount of related information for easy access by researchers.It is also called as reference section.
You can use the reference work like encyclopedias, yearbooks, quotation books, and biographical aids.
Encyclopedias: Encyclopedia Britannica (general) African American Encyclopedia, the encyclopedia of religion, McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and technology
Yearbooks: they contain an amount of current information. (facts and file and World Almanac and book of facts)
Quotation Books: the best –known collection is Bartlett’s Familiar Quotations.(25,000 historical and contemporary figures)
Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, The new quotable woman, and Ancient Echoes.
Biographical Aids: brief life and career facts about contemporary men and women.
